Volunteers are welcome to participate in this educational ministry to children.
You do not have to be a parent of one of the children to volunteer.
Liturgy of the Word - Part 1
For all children K-grade 5. This prayer service for children follows the same format as the adult liturgy.
We gather together in church, and we are dismissed with a blessing after the opening prayer.
In their classroom, they hear the readings and a homily directed to the children’s level.
After the petitions, those who have received First Eucharist rejoin their family in church for the remainder of Mass.
No registration or fee is required for Part 1.
Liturgy of the Word - Part 2
For children Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade who have not received First Eucharist.
After Liturgy of the Word, Part 1, these children remain for class.
The curriculum is based on the readings from each Sunday’s Mass.
Registration required; cost for supplies is $10.
Children registered in the Tuesday and Wednesday evening Faith Formation Program,
and who have not received First Eucharist, are welcome to register for Liturgy of the Word,
Part 2.
