We are now underway developing a new Marriage Ministry at Good Shepherd. We will soon begin the process of reviewing national marriage support programs. We will then promote the most successful program(s) available locally to our parish couples.
In 2005, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops began a 5 year project:
In the NATIONAL PASTORAL INITIATIVE FOR MARRIAGE the U.S. Catholic bishops call attention to the meaning and value of married life for the Church and for society. Bringing Catholic belief into dialogue with contemporary needs, the bishops urge the Catholic Church to become a community of hope and help for marriages and to join others in building a culture of marriage.
