Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is our process for exploring the Catholic faith and entering the Church.

RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is our process for exploring the Catholic faith and entering the Church. It’s a process that can be tailored to meet your needs. It can take as much time as you want or as little as you require.
Adults
Most of you will enjoy sharing this stage of your faith journey with like-minded people. Here at Good Shepherd, a series of Sunday morning classes provides the opportunity to examine the teachings of Scripture and Tradition. Weekly topics are based on Scripture readings together with elements of the Creed, study of the sacraments, moral living, and the social teachings of the Church. You will learn about Christ’s life and message, prayer and the Mass, the seasonal nature of the liturgical year, and Catholic customs.
Special celebrations at Sunday Mass will bring you together with the Good Shepherd community for a sharing of faith and support. At Easter Vigil, you will come into full membership in the Church and receive the Sacraments of Initiation.
RCIA takes into consideration the distinctive history and spiritual needs of each person on an individual basis. Meet with the program coordinator to plan your path into the Catholic Church.
Children and Teens
RCIA is for all who have reached the age of reason, including children, who wish to join the Catholic Church. The needs of each young person will be considered based on age and religious background and an appropriate plan made for each individual. Parents should contact the program coordinator.

I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep.
— John 10:14-15
