At times people who may be hungry visit Good Shepherd asking for help. Others reach out to our St. Vincent de Paul chapter. In either case, hungry people can be given a Food Bag.
We have a supply of nonperishable, long lasting food in reusable totes. The food is donated by parishioners in boxes or grocery bags and repackaged into the totes. The bags also include a St. Vincent de Paul brochure, directions to area food banks, and $5 cash to buy fresh fruit or dairy.
The following costs about $40 using store brands at a grocery store. Food Bags can be brought to the parish office any time during office hours.
Package of dry milk | 3 cans of beef stew, meat or chicken |
Jar of peanut butter | Jar of jelly |
Box mac and cheese | 2 cans of soup |
3 cans of vegetables | 3 cans of fruit |
Box of corn flakes or Cheerios | Bar of Ivory soap |
