AN OPPORTUNITY TO HELP SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBORS IN TEXAS AND
ACROSS THE WORLD
The Psalm 23 Ministry is an outreach ministry of Good Shepherd to assist the Catholic Church's global and national efforts to care for those in need and to spread the Gospel. There are nine parishioners who are on the Psalm 23 committee who help make decisions regarding allocation of Psalm 23 resources.
Psalm 23 members recently voted to send $10,000 to Catholic Charities USA to support residents of Texas who are recovering from the recent extreme weather. President Joe Biden declared a major disaster in the state of Texas following a series of unusual winter storms in February that left millions of Texans without electricity or clean water. On hundred percent of what is collected will support the people in need in Texas.
Psalm 23 members also voted to send $10,000 to Catholic Relief Services to support the great need across the world because of the pandemic and other issues. Catholic Relief Services carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas. 'We are motivated by the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cherish, preserve and uphold the sacredness and dignity of all human life, foster charity and justice, and embody Catholic social and moral teaching.’ CRS supports over 100 countries in five continents.
Parishioners have the opportunity to add to these donations. Checks can be written to Good Shepherd with either “Texas” or “CRS” (Catholic Relief Services) on the memo line. In addition, donations can be made online by clicking the "Donate" button below.
