Tax Year 2022 Contribution Deadlines

To make sure your donations to the church appear on your 2022 contribution statement, please note the following deadlines:

• Online donations through the parish website—Monday, December 26, 2022.

 

• Donation envelopes or checks brought to the parish—7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022, OR placed in the outside depository (by the Outreach Wall in the main gathering space) no later than 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022. The parish office is closed from December 23, 2022 through January 1, 2023.

 

• Donations mailed to the parish—All envelopes must be postmarked by December 31, 2022 to be included on your 2022 contribution statement.

 

• Electronic Securities—The tax benefit is realized on the date that the stock is transferred to Good Shepherd.

Please note: The date on your check is not the indicator of when a donation is recorded by the parish. For example, if you mail a check dated December 30, 2022, and the envelope is postmarked January 2, 2023, it will be counted as a 2023 contribution. The same applies if you put a check in the collection basket on January 1, 2023, dated in 2022.

Christmas envelopes received after December 31, 2022, will be posted as a 2023 contribution unless they are mailed and postmarked in 2022.
